Unity of Wichita provides a spiritually rich, caring, and safe environment for children. What makes us different is that we are a non-traditional, non-fundamental spiritual center that emphasizes a loving and creative God. God is only good and is not separate from us, rather in and all around us and will assist us in every aspect of life.

We utilize the teachings from the Christian and Hebrew Scriptures as well as other faith traditions around the world. Primarily through the life and teachings of Jesus the Christ, who demonstrated the power of God within us, youth learn to be grounded and guided through prayer and meditation. This is developed as they awaken to their unique relationship with God.

Unity teaches metaphysical Bible interpretation which includes understanding the historical, cultural, and spiritual aspect of the scriptures. This is known as Metaphysical or Practical Christianity which encourages independent thinking, developing awareness of thoughts and behaviors to co-create a fulfilling life while cultivating kindness and respect of self and others.

Nursery: Infants to 2
Unitots: 2 – Preschool
Unitweens: Kindergarten – 5th
Uniteens: Jr High 6th – 8th YOU – (Youth of Unity) High School 9th – 12th

If you are new to Unity and plan to have your child attend:

- Sign your children in at the entry way to the Youth department, nursery children included. Please pick them up from here at the end of service.
- We will have you fill out an information sheet and a photo release form, (if you agree, it is not required,) as we put pictures on our Facebook, website and/or the eblast (our weekly newsletter.)

Myrtle Fillmore, Co-founder of Unity

As co-founder of Unity, Myrtle Fillmore said: “Our mission is not to entertain the children, but to call them out. To be always entertained is to be dwarfed and dependent. To be “called out” is to follow the harmonious law of the soul’s unfoldment.”

Learn prayer, (talking to God), and Meditation, (listening to God)
Learn mindfulness – awareness of our thoughts and directing them in a positive way to help manifest good
Teach and practice Positive Affirmations, and Denials of the power of negative things over us

Unity songs and movement exercises
Create heart agreements or expectations of behavior from each other and being accountable to this
Retreats for middle and high school age children with regional and international Unity groups
Teach the importance of respecting and honoring ALL individuals as people of different ethnicities, sexual orientation, backgrounds, and especially our elders
Fundraising events, movie night, annual swim party, Holiday parties, Christmas program, community service hours opportunities, trip to Unity Village, Missouri- World Headquarters
