An invitation is the action of opening your life to another in some way. It may be by inviting a friend to a wedding or similar celebration. It may be the act of accepting a person as they are… inviting them to be their authentic selves in your presence. It may even be a way of sharing your understanding of spiritual truth with those you love. The ultimate expression found in this invitation is one of love, appreciation, admiration or exploration. It is an act of opening to another in a personal way.
An invitation as a spiritual practice is consciously opening your heart and mind, not only to celebrate and share, but to deepen your understanding of our shared experience. We must offer an invitation to our neighbors, friends, families, and even the inner critic, child, and presence to be engaged with us as we explore and experience spiritual transformation.
So this month, I invite you to consider this invitation… Who will you invite to the spiritual party in consciousness? Your ego, your inner critic? Perhaps you will invite the friend who seems to be feeling disconnected or your neighbor who is seeking purpose. Take this invitation and pass it along. Afterall, we are better together!
