The month of October is one of shifting seasons… we see the changes in the grocery store and on the street corners. Halloween, pumpkins, fall leaves, and the anticipation of the big holidays is on the rise! The theme this month is all about rising, it is ascension. To ascend is to elevate, gain importance, to rise to a higher level. The physical meaning refers to standing, climbing, and moving to a higher position. In thought, this would be to focus on activities, thoughts and emotions that support one’s good and one’s health. Spiritually, it is to shift from the sense of self as separate and solely individual to an awareness of self connected in oneness with higher consciousness and with the Beingness often called God. 

The power of October is the Power of ZEAL! Did you read that with rising zeal or enthusiasm? To ascend requires a certain power of zeal. One must enthusiastically engage with the Beingness and commit focus to the conscious connections one is making in day to day activity. If shifts are necessary, change must follow…. The frequency with which one prays, meditates, practices generosity, creates, and lives their life through mindful intention can aid a powerful experience of enthusiastic ascension! 

You are invited to explore the ways in which you can rise to new awareness, open to new possibilities of good, and how you can see the light of Spirit in yourself and others each day. Consider if you are ready to open your heart and mind to a higher experience of connection with self and with God. What can you do today to engage zeal in a novel way?
